Privacy Policy

What we collect

• Audio: the lines you record with the microphone (kept on your device only)
• PDF files: the scripts you choose (kept on your device only)
• Usage data: anonymous counts of how the app is used, such as which features get used
• Crash reports: collected to make the app more stable
• Purchases: handled by Apple, and not accessible to the developer. This covers Understudy Pro (an auto-renewing subscription) and tips

What leaves your device

Your audio and PDF files are never sent to the developer or to any server. They stay on your device.

• Usage data and crash reports go to Firebase anonymously. They carry nothing that identifies you
• Exporting happens only when you ask for it, through the iOS share sheet

Tracking and ads

Understudy does not track you and shows no ads.

If ads are ever added, this policy will be updated and you will be told in the app beforehand.

Subscription

Understudy Pro is an auto-renewing subscription. Apple handles the purchase, the renewal and the cancellation, and the developer never receives your card details.

You can cancel from Settings on iOS: Apple Account, then Subscriptions. You can also get there from Manage subscription on the Understudy Pro screen in the app.

Terms of use are Apple's standard End User License Agreement.

Deleting your data

• You can delete anything from inside the app at any time
• Deleting the app removes all of its data
• You can revoke microphone access from iOS Settings at any time
